Jump Domain Not Answering Support Queries

How to get away from Jump Domain

I've been using Jump Domain for many years for my .com domains. No problems with their basic web control panel, until just recently when I tried to authorize a domain for use with Google Apps. That requires a CNAME setting on a domain, which in turn required the DNS to be set to their parking servers. Went through ok, but alarm bells started to ring.

Their parking servers were timing out. So I submitted a support request using their quiet nice support system. I thought it was weird that all three parking name servers were timing out, as well as the parking web server. A search on Jump Domain made me gulp. Tales of woe, horror stories of domains expiring and EPP requests going unanswered for months

I got EPP codes within four days.

Some of the reports said that eNom were the reseller to Jump Domain. I submitted a help request to them here, or you can go to their home page, select help from the top nav then select contact form. I asked nicely for the EPP codes for all my domains because Jump Domain were unresponsive. The reply came to email transfers@enom.com. Same simple email, and within three working days, my EPP codes arrived. Enom were very helpful.

I chose to go with namecheap.com as my registrar because of its excellent reviews, who, conincidentally is with enom as well.

A couple of domains wouldn't transfer in because they were younger than 60 days. I put in a request to enom to have them pushed to namecheap. I'll update on how that goes.

Hope this helps someone who is lumbered with Jump Domain.

UPDATE: enom successfully pushed my two new domains to namecheap.com, who assigned them to me, all for no charge. My initial impressions of enom and namecheap are that they have excellent customer support. I'm transferring my co.uk domains over to them now.

UPDATE2: Namecheap have been very good so I'm now an affiliate. I wasn't when I wrote this.

If you use Remote Cart you

If you use Remote Cart you should run to another cart provider ASAP whatever the cost. Scott Adam Ison who is the owner has not done tech support for Remote Cart or Jumpdomain in several months. He let the SSL certificate with Geotrust (formerly Equifax) expire on May 15, 2009. It is still expired 2+ weeks later. He did the same thing last year but repaired it in a couple of weeks. The expired certificate means that most users with any security settings in their browsers will get a message warning that your site may be trying to fool them into giving personal financial information (phishing) when they go to check out.
Forget about opening support tickets or calling. Even his home phone is disconnected and his law office only has voice mail.
If you are registered with them call Enom or TUCOWS and demand a transfer.
If you are hosted with them move ASAP.
Remote Cart users are experiencing lost revenues plus disparagement to their businesses.
